SNIPER
by Sergeant-Major Mark Spicer
The techniques and equipment of the
deadly marksman
The sniper engages in
a dangerous, lonely mission, often miles ahead of friendly forces, deep
inside enemy territory, or hunkered down in a secret hideaway in an urban
environment frequented by terrorists. In the past he has somewhat
disdainfully been called "professional assassin," mainly by
people who think of a camouflaged rifleman hidden in treetops picking off
advancing enemy soldiers one by one. Today, however, the wise
commander values the unique skills of the sniper, who can halt a whole
battalion by carefully taking out the enemy's command and communications
equipment or vital personnel, or disable important weapons.
Much more than a superb marksman, the sniper can create panic and
confusion among the enemy, and buy the time or locations superiority for
his own forces. He is the deadliest soldier on the battlefield,
whose most dangerous foe is another sniper.
In this detailed
examinations of the sniper's rile, the author, a highly skilled sniper and
international instructor in the art, describers the intensely technical
training the sniper has to undergo, his head-to-toe camouflage and
concealment methods, the intricate shooting techniques he has to master,
how he has to be able to operate in all terrains-Arctic to desert, open
country to city center-and in all weather conditions. Drawing on his
vast professional experience, during which he has fired most of the
world's sniper rifles, he also evaluated the most frequently used sniper
weapons and equipment.
Clear and absorbing
text is complemented by specially commissioned explanatory diagrams and
close-up photographs, most in color, creating a volume of tremendous
importance to military personnel of all ranks the world over, and also of
value and interest to the sporting shooters and general reader as
well.

HOLOGRAM
OF LIBERTY
BY: KENNETH W. ROYCE
Probably 80% of
Americans feel that the Federal Government has become too powerful and too
intrusive. Not only that, they don't quite understand how this
came to be--or what to do about it. In this century alone,
government has grown 500 times faster than its citizens. How has
this happened? Where has our Republic gone? Wasn't the
Constitution supposed to check cancerous federal growth and protect our
liberties.

DUMBING
US DOWN
BY JOHN TAYLOR GATTO
Thirty years of award-winning
teaching in New York City's public schools led John Gatto to the sad
conclusion that compulsory government schooling has nothing to do with
education, doing little but teach young people to conform to the economy
and social order. Dumbing Us Down reveals the shocking reality of
today's school system and has become a beacon of parents seeking
alternatives to it. With a new foreword, introduction and afterword,
this new edition is even more relevant in setting the agenda for a
complete overhaul of how we educate our childern-and for what.

THE
STATE VS. THE PEOPLE
BY CLAIRE
WOLFE AND AARON ZELMAN
Any book this chilling
should be fiction. Instead of penning a novel, though, Wolfe and
Zelman compiled compelling evidence that the "free world"
increasingly maintains only the facade of liberty, cloaking an iron fisted
reality.

THE REDNECK MANIFESTO
BY JIM GOAD
Culture maverick Jim
Goad presents a thoroughly reasoned, darkly funny, and rampagingly angry
defense of American's most maligned social group-the cultural clan
variously referred to as rednecks, hillbillies, white trash, crackers, and
trailer trash. As The Redneck Manifesto boldly points out and
brilliantly demonstrates, America's dirty little secret isn't racism but
classism. Which pouncing incessantly on racial themes, most major
media are silent about American's widening class rifts, a problem that
negatively affect more people all colors that dose racism. With an
unmatched ability for rubbing salt in cultural wounds, Jim Goad deftly
dismantles most popular American notions about race and culture and takes
a sledgehammer to our delicate glass-blown popular conceptions of
government, religion, media, and history.
